My name is Pegah Lari, an Iranian female painter currently residing in Tehran, Iran. Painting for me is a personal, safe, and beautiful world where I know no one can interfere. I have been a professional artist for over 16 years, holding exhibitions in galleries both inside and outside Iran. My first professional experience as an artist was having my painting accepted at the 7th Tehran Biennial.
As an artist, I have spent a lot of time understanding and learning about color. Iranian miniature paintings were a great source for learning color, and nature has always been an inspiration for me.
In 2010, I held my first solo exhibition at the Iranian Artists' Forum, and in 2011, I exhibited at Siin Gallery under the title "The Living Experience." In 2013, I succeeded in having a solo exhibition at one of Tehran's best and most famous galleries, Homa Art Gallery, titled "Rainbow in Private Quarter."
My first exhibition experience outside Iran was in Paris with a group exhibition titled "Voyage autour des lettres" at Nicolas Flamel Gallery in 2013, which was a great success for me. My painting was shown on Euronews on 22 November 2013. After that, I held my first solo exhibition in France at Nicolas Flamel Gallery in Antibes, France, which was reported in the Huffington Post on 19 April 2014. Subsequently, my paintings entered the auction at Emergeast Gallery in Dubai, where I had successful participation in three auctions in 2015, 2016, and 2017.
My painting was featured in Canvas Magazine on 15 August 2016. After that, I had many group and solo exhibition experiences inside and outside Iran. One notable group exhibition was at W Hotel, Art 29 Gallery, Qatar in 2017, and another group exhibition at Botte Gallery in Toronto in 2019. My most recent solo exhibition in Iran was at Vista Art Gallery in October 2023.
I have always tried to be a dynamic artist who loves to experiment. My collections are diverse and varied. I have chosen different subjects for my paintings, including social issues, women, and children, but I have never made direct references to any topic in my works. My works have a distinct characteristic and signature, which is my use of color. I always draw on my lived experiences in my paintings. I love learning new things and using new tools to create my works. I am currently active in the NFT world, which is very exciting for me. Web3 has allowed me to gain fascinating experiences in digital painting. If you are an artist, different tools are appealing to you. I always want to move forward. I love the contemporary world and the new possibilities that new spaces and tools provide. Art has no boundaries; you just have to keep going, embrace new tools and spaces to present your work, and move forward.
